Cryopreparations

Cryopreparations – freezing solutions and –systems of stem- and cord blood cells.

The manufacturing was started in 2007. Marketing takes place through OriGen Biomedical AB in Helsingborg.
We produce sterile cryopreparations (24 different names) in aseptic conditions and they are packed into syringes or vials. At the moment we produce 5 types of solutions:

  - DMSO
  - 55% DMSO / 5% Dextran-40
  - 10% Dextran-40 / 0,9% NaCl
  - 20% DMSO / 8% Dextran-40 / 0,72% NaCl
  - 20% DMSO / 0,72% NaCl

We started producing of Broncho-alveolar lavage (for pulmonary wash) in March 2009.

Accidental aspiration of liquids or solids presents a significant problem in removal from the bronchial tree.

Advantages of Broncho-alveolar lavage over saline lavage:
- Does not block oxygen transfer during lavage
- Low surface tension and high density make this a very effective lavage agent.
- Does not mix with water, inhaled liquids or solids
- Most liquids and solids float on top of Broncho-alveolar lavage, making removal  from lungs easier.
- Does not elicit a cough reflex

At the moment we produce 2 types of solutions:

                    - Perfluorodecalin
                    - Perflubron
